Photorealistic drawing in Flash

I remember seeing this site by VectorKid about 6 years ago. Awesome skills and he explains it all in tutorials on the site. The illustrations are still amazing and he's now published a tutorial book. Probably a great place to start if you want to learn illustration using Flash.

Not trying to pimp up our GUI team but as far as I know our team does better illustrations in Flash than these ones!

Probably. I don't doubt that many can do something better looking if they use a 3D program or Photoshop. Keep in mind that he did these illustrations 6-7 years ago and he only used Flash for drawing. The illustrations are all done by clever layering of gradients and it's all hand drawn vectors so it's quite a job to make a tomato or ice cube look that good.

Well, that is what I mean, our people uses Flash and are all hand draw. And yes, I am not saying that VectorKid is bad. This is cool too!

There are downloadable tutorials on the site, but the server will not server them anymore. And there is no way to notify vectorkid. Annoying.
